Frosty the Snowman Movie Night

If you know me at all, then it’s no surprise I love themed movie nights. Really, themed anything. I love it so much. Party planning is one of my guilty pleasures. To incorporate my love of a good theme with the holiday season, a few years ago I started Christmas movie nights. It started as just a night to watch the movie and eat some fun snacks, and slowly evolved to include meals and activities and crafts. This year, we turned it into a whole day. Because why not?!

Enjoy a look through our Frosty the Snowman day and feel free to steal any ideas! Most of the crafts were things I already had on hand, and the foods were thing’s we’d eat anyway.

The day started with our elves leaving us snowballs because they heard we were having a Frosty day. We had a snowman breakfast and then the kids enjoyed throwing them at each other! We took them outside to play for a bit too.

We made snowy puff paint and decorated a snowman. The recipe called for elmer’s glue which I could have sworn I had but couldn’t find it, so we threw together some white paint, mod podge, shaving cream, flour, and a little glitter.
πŸ˜‚ It all turned out in the end. It was a neat texture when it dried!

I also taught Nolan the art of paper snowflakes! He thought they were so neat! Molly enjoyed coloring on them as we made them.

Another craft for the day were these PRECIOUS snowmen posts for our front porch. They’re the exact same height as my kids are right now! πŸ˜ I’m so pleased with how they turned out. I used some old fuzzy socks and ricrac and lace for the hats, random fabric I found in the basement for the scarf, old buttons, and paint pens. I printed out a tag from here and mod podged it to the back. They are so stinkin cute and are probably going to make me cry every year. Speaking of year, I forgot and need to go back and add the year under their names!

We had leftover hamburgers for lunch, which I turned into snowmen! After lunch Mo took a nap, and Nolan and I decorated cookies.

When Molly woke up from nap, we tried our cookies and special delivered a couple to some family, then sat down with some popcorn (crackers for Mo) and watched Frosty! Such a classic. ❤️

For dinner, we made our own mini snowmen pizzas. I had some snowmen chicken salad crackers and macarons (Molly’s FAVORITE thing ever) to snack on.

We finished the night making one last canvas ornament to hang on our tree. It was a great day full of lots of snowman fun!! Now to plan the next one!
